AF4Q – South Central PA’s Quality Reports Appear in New Health Care Quality Directory

In late June, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation launched a new online directory to find reliable information on the care that hospitals and physicians provide. Comparing Health Care Quality: A National Directory is a map-based tool that links to 197 reports in 46 states, including AF4Q SCPA’s Community Checkup ( The directory compares local health care quality, based on nationally recognized standards of care, patient experience, cost or efficiency.

Patients can use this information to learn about the quality of care provided by local doctors and hospitals and make informed choices about their care. Physicians and other health care professionals can use these tools to identify and evaluate areas for quality improvement, while those who pay for care can determine the value of the care they are purchasing.

Under Pennsylvania, Aligning Forces for Quality’s reports for physicians and hospitals is included, as well as information from AF4Q – South Central PA’s partners: Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council and Pennsylvania Health Care Quality Alliance. The New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute is also listed under this section.
